We are pleased to offer this exceedingly rare “Big Chair” (official name: Model 2117 Chair) and ottoman designed by Jens Risom for Jens Risom Inc.

A simple search on the internet will turn up only one other example currently for sale at $14,000 done in a cheaper fabric and without the matching ottoman.

The Big Chair is aptly named as it is one of the largest mid century chairs ever designed. Significantly larger than other iconic chairs from the era; Eames Lounger, Womb chair, Papa Bear chair, Platner chair are all dwarfed by the substantial presence of this set.

Covered in a top grain semi-analine black leather this chair is going to age beautifully over the years. Unlike fabric options that just looks dated/worn after inevitable spills and stains, this example will only look better over time as the leather is broken in; think well worn baseball glove or a premium vintage leather jacket.

Rock solid construction details ensure decades of future use with no fear that the chair is flimsy in any way. The ottoman is nearly three feet in diameter and large enough to seat three people around it. The ottoman can also double as a coffee table when not in use.

Chair can be used with or without the back cushion as shown.
