EARLY EDITION KNOLL WOMB CHAIR AND OTTOMAN
Fresh from the upholsters is this special early edition Knoll Womb Chair designed by Eero Saarinen.
The chair and ottoman have been given all new foam and are covered in nine yards of Knoll Classic Boucle in Neutral staying true to how the chair was intended to be covered.
Unlike most other womb chairs that claim to be vintage, this one truly is. It still retains it's original Knoll Associates label which dates it pre-1967 (when Knoll changed it's name to Knoll International).
The upholstery was completely hand sewn as was originally intended when the chair was designed. (On current production Womb chairs by Knoll they have put unsightly welting around the perimeter of the frame to save costs and conceal the machined seam).
The chrome shines bright and shows very nicely with no glaring concerns.
Also note, the flat feet glides, indicating this is a true vintage piece as more recent productions of this chair have tapered glides.
