Early Version Florence Knoll Three Seat Sofa (SOLD)
For your consideration is this beautiful Florence Knoll Sofa on the highly desired wood base. This is an early version of this Knoll sofa and is no longer made (unlike the more common steel based versions).
The three-seater sofa has been completely restored to original specifications. The sofa was completely stripped and all new cotton batting, foam, and upholstery was used. The aqua wool blend fabric is the perfect compliment to a true mid century piece.
As originally designed, the blind-tufted, back cushions are attached to the rear piece of the sofa. What's more, each back cushion retains it's original douglas fir piece of plywood (wrapped in batting) to ensure the back cushions stay in place and don't look messy. The blind-tufted seat cushions are all flippable.
The solid wood base has a beautiful patina. The base could be completely sanded and stained if that is your preference, but we personally think it is perfect as is.
The quality of this sofa is second to none and it weighs nearly 300 pounds. Rock solid and sure to be the statement piece of your home.
