Eero Saarinen for Knoll First Generation Womb Chair in Sheepskin
Pre 1963 model Womb Chair designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll, features the early generation black metal frame and thick hockey puck feet. Knoll label on the tag is pre zip codes which dates this to late 50’s early 60’s (zip codes weren’t used until 1963).
Covered in premium champagne 100% Australian Sheepskin makes one of the most comfortable chairs ever designed, even more cozy. Sheepskin is both warm and exceptionally breathable, which helps regulates body temperature no matter the climate. It’s also naturally hypoallergenic and bacteria resistant.
The upholstery is completely hand sewn per the original design intention. (On current production Womb chairs by Knoll they have put unsightly welting around the perimeter of the frame to save costs and conceal the machined seam).
The matte black frame has a minimal patina that enhances the overall aesthetic of this killer vintage score.
Original cushion clips retained to prevent the seat from slipping off the chair.
