Candace Knapp is a renowned wood sculpture who has been commissioned for numerous public and private pieces.

The daughter of a toy maker, Knapp received her Masters of Fine Arts in Sculpture in 1974 from the Cleveland Institute of Art. She has been creating incredible sculptures in various scales and forms for the last 50 years.

This piece is one of the first she did upon the conclusion of her formal education and we are delighted to have such a treasure in our possession.

The solid walnut Lion sculpture features hundreds of delicately hand carved sections giving the main and tail incredible detail and texture. The simple body, is not as simple as it seems. A hidden compartment reveals a generous storage area, large enough to fit an multiple goodies or treasures.

From any angle, this Lion commands attention as it stands 18” Tall and 27” long. This is a large scale piece and is meant to be seen.
